SGM Scott Mayer began operating heavy equipment for the Army National Guard and learned how to build roads, dams, and airstrips on a very large scale. We apply those earthmoving principles today on a much smaller scale with the same high standards. Combine his mother’s gardening influence at an early age, his training and talent, along with Mayer’s own appreciation for outdoor living and gardening spaces, and in 2007 Horizontal Earthworks was launched.
Our seasonal employees are college students who are mostly pursuing degrees in engineering or business and are eager to learn “the getting your hands dirty” side of the business.
